Bioeffect enters UK professional market with first spa partner

Icelandic skincare brand Bioeffect has partnered with Hartwell House Hotel & Spa in Aylesbury as the first UK spa to offer its professional treatments.

The brand has also outlined plans to target an additional 30 to 40 high-end UK spas within the next year.

Bioeffect is known for its EGF Cellular Activating Serum, which uses plantderived growth factors for anti-ageing. In November, it unveiled the Bioeffect Pro line of eight professional-only products for use in its new EGF Treatment facial. The brand was previously only available in the UK via retailers in London and online.

Speaking about the brand’s plans for the UK spa market, co-founder and UK managing director Christoffer Konigsfeldt said the brand wanted to reach beyond the capital and that as a countryside location Hartwell House was “exciting for us because it fits the category that we really want to partner with and gives customers the chance to spend a weekend and experience the treatment at a getaway location.”

The spa will offer the 55-minute EGF treatment as well as a 25-minute eye treatment and a longer facial combining both. “We’re delighted to be the first hotel spa to deliver these results-driven treatments. It’s very different to see a brand that works with just eight products and is unlike anything I’ve ever used in a spa before,” said Rebecca Cade, spa manager at Hartwell House.
