Caledonian to host UK's first Guerlain Spa

The Caledonian hotel in Edinburgh is to be the site for the UK’s first Guerlain Spa, which will open this winter.

The hotel, part of Hilton's Waldorf Astoria group, will open this month, with the spa due to follow later in the year.

The spa will feature three treatment rooms, a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi-style pool and a 24-hour gym.

The concept was to create a personalised experience for each guest, beginning with a precise skin diagnosis followed by a signature Guerlain foot bath.

The treatment menu at the Guerlain spa will use Guerlain products and is built around the origins of the signature Guerlain massage from 1939, when the brand opened its first ‘Institut de Beaute’ in Paris. The facial massage combines pressure point massage and muscular exercise techniques designed to relax, as well as a boost radiance and a more youthful appearance.

Available treatments will include signature and personalised facial and body treatments, as well as body sublimination, make-up artistry sessions and holistic therapies such as reflexology, Chinese massage and aesthetic drainage.

Louise Moore, director of spa operations and development for Hilton Worldwide, said, “Beauty therapists will provide guests with a bespoke and boutique experience that will really reflect the spa’s essence.”

Individual treatments will start at £40 with day experiences from £275.
