Call for advisory panel to help promote the beauty industry
Professional Beauty is launching a campaign to promote the professional treatments market and ultimately increase both client footfall and treatment prices in salons and spas.
The fund aims to raise £200,000 for a nationwide media campaign to educate consumers about the benefits of treatments and encourage a wider spectrum of the public to try them
The initiative was launched at the 2014 Professional Beauty and World Spa & Wellness Awards at the Guildhall in London on February 23. An initial £6,080 was donated on the night, with awards guests contributing £3,040 and Professional Beauty matching the donation.
Professional Beauty is now calling on spas, salons and suppliers to join an advisory panel that will direct how the money is spent.
Professional Beauty’s managing director Mark Moloney said the scheme is designed to “benefit every single company in our sector”, adding, “The general public often doesn’t understand the preparation, training and care that goes into providing top-notch treatments. If we can change perceptions, we will encourage more people to have treatments and, over time, foster a greater understanding of the superb value that spas and salons offer.”
A website will also be set up to provide consumers responding to the advertising campaign with information on the benefits of a wide range of treatments. Companies who back the campaign will also be promoted through the site.
Salons, spas and brands interested in joining the advisory panel should contact Mark Moloney on 020 7351 0536 or mark@professionalbeauty.co.uk
