Canyon Ranch to debut new Wellness Retreats concept in California this summer

Canyon Ranch will open the doors to its third property this summer.

The spa and wellness group will debut its new Wellness Retreat concept in California’s Silicon Valley in the US.

Located among the redwood forests of Woodside, the 16-acre property will have 14 guest rooms and 24 rooms in standalone tree houses. Guests can opt for three, four or seven-day retreats.

Taking cues from the Life Enhancement Center at Canyon Ranch’s flagship resort in Tucson, Arizona, the programmes at Wellness Retreat – Woodside will centre on “community-driven, introspective and nature-infused experiences”.

In addition to culinary, movement and typical wellness activities, guests will also take part in experiences to promote emotional wellness.

The property will feature a spa with sauna, indoor saline pool and whirlpool, in addition to a fitness-training zone.

Making use of the resort’s natural surroundings, hiking, biking, nature trail and obstacle course activities will be available year-round.

The property, formally Skylonda Lodge, is being redesigned by Architect Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates after acquisition by Canyon Ranch. It will have an outdoor-inspired aesthetic to encourage guests to feel connected with the nature around them.

Canyon Ranch also operates a wellness destination resort in Lenox, Massachusetts, as well as spas in The Venetian and The Palazzo hotels in Las Vegas; and branded wellness facilities on-board 22 luxury cruise ships as Canyon Ranch at Sea.
