Since starting at PB back in the spring I’ve wasted no time taking advantage of the amazing professional brands I have access to. So far I’ve discovered some incredible skincare brands, make-up that really does what it says on the tin and innovative nail products. Here are just some of the products I’ve been using and loving over the last few months.

Murad Essential-C Cleanser

I have to use a gel or foaming cleanser in the morning in the shower for my skin to feel clean and awake. This ticks both boxes and doesn’t leave me feeling dry or tight. The light-textured gel is gentle, refreshing and effective, and is a trusty staple in my routine that does its job no matter what other products I’m using.

Sultane de Saba Gold Cleansing Jelly

This is my current night time cleanser. I was so intrigued by the idea of a jelly-textured cleanser, there’s something very pleasurable about scooping a finger full of gold-flecked jelly from a glass pot and smoothing it over your face. And it delivers too – I apply it to a damp face in circular motions and remove with a cleansing sponge to find every trace of make-up gone and glowing skin in its place.

Exuviance Super Retinol Concentrate

Exuviance is one of the brands unknown to me before I started at PB and I am so impressed by everything I’ve tried so far. This in particular is a real breakthrough product for me as it’s the only thing I’ve found that gets rid of the irritating little milia bumps I get on the tops of my cheeks. I was originally using it on the stubborn patch of acne on my chin, which it also worked well on, but then I saw a client’s tweet to the brand online gushing about how it made her milia disappear. I gave it a go and after one application they had minimised, two, practically gone.

Lash Perfect Ultimate Black Mascara

I started using this on my Lash Perfect lash extensions and was so impressed by its thickening and lengthening abilities that it’s now my everyday natural lash mascara. I don’t particularly understand mascara technology but it just seems to make my lashes standout and be far more noticeable than usual.

Skinceuticals Metacell Renewal B3

Skinceuticals is serious skincare - the only kind worth having in my opinion. I’ve been using this new silky emulsion to tackle early signs of photoageing - even though I’m only 23 I now understand this is necessary after attending the launch event and presentation - day and night under my moisturiser. I’ve noticed an overall improvement in the texture of my skin - it’s fresher, brighter and more uniform, and I’m sure the high glycerin content is helping keep my hydration levels topped up during these colder months.

Essie Gel in Twill Seeker

I had my first Essie manicure this week when I visited the brand’s new nail bar in House of Fraser Leeds. Not only did I get a perfect gel manicure but also I’m completely in love with the shade I chose, Twill Seeker. It’s a mesmerising iridescent, petrol-like shade (in the way that petrol shimmers with different tones from different angles) with shots of green, grey and purple running through the dark base. Luckily the colour isn’t restricted to a pro gel manicure, there’s a matching polish called For the Twill of It.
