The De Savary family, with a portfolio of boutique hotels and properties around the world, has announced plans to build a luxury spa at each of its UK properties, Cary Arms in Devon and The Old Swan & Minster Mill in the Cotswolds.
Cary Arms, at Babbacombe Bay on the South Devon coast will see the addition of a luxury spa as well as nine new seafront beach huts and riviera villas, ready to open for guests in May 2016. The £1.5 million expansion of the eight bedroom property, which also boasts four cottages and a restaurant, will include a glass-fronted pool and sunbathing deck with views of the Devon coastline. The Cary Spa will house two treatment rooms, an experience shower with mood lighting and aromatherapy jets, and a sauna, steam room and mini gym.
Lana de Savary, owner and head of UK operations, said: “I am delighted to announce these exciting plans for the Cary Arms, which is such a special and happy place, full of fun and romance. It will reaffirm the property as one of England’s most special and luxurious seaside inns. The new Cary Spa, while boutique, will be as it should be, a pleasure and a joy!”
In addition, The Old Swan & Minster Mill is also set for a new luxury spa facility after high demand from guests, designed to offer them “a unique sensory experience, with immediate escapism from their busy day-to-day lives”.
The Windrush Spa will feature a swimming pool with waterfall, experience showers and four treatments rooms including a couple’s room. The spa’s design will mirror existing historic features of the buildings and will use traditional honey-coloured Cotswold stone and oak beams. Parisian skincare brand Yon-Ka will be the product house of choice for a menu of holistic, custom treatments.
De Savary commented: “We are thrilled to be able to add further bespoke additions to the Old Swan & Minster Mill. This year, we have added a number of new facilities and we envisage that by offering an exceptional luxury spa with a selection of specialised face and body treatments and a very warm service, our guests will feel immediately relaxed and cared for and their overall enjoyment will be elevated still further.”
The Windrush Spa is also scheduled to open in Spring 2016.
