First London Beauty Week to launch in September

The first ever London Beauty Week will launch this September as a partnership between the Covent Garden estate – dubbed “London’s beauty quarter” as the home of beauty boutiques including Tom Ford, Deciem and Charlotte Tilbury – and The British Beauty Council.

Billed as the beauty industry’s London Fashion Week counterpart, London Beauty week will run from September 11 – 15 and has been launched to celebrate the power of the British beauty industry.

A number of consumer and trade events will take place to “showcase some of the most exciting British beauty products” and support growth and influence in the industry.

Events will include supper clubs, beauty workshops and discussions with key names on the future of the industry and London’s contribution to the global beauty market.

There will also be a competition for start-up brands to win beauty business mentoring from experts plus a retail spot in Covent Garden to sell their product.

Millie Kendall, chief executive of The British Beauty Council, said: “The British Beauty Council are delighted to be working with founding patron Covent Garden in creating this dynamic experiential week of beauty.

“Beauty is a buoyant sector and contributes significantly to the UK economy. As a growing industry that is a force for good, we are focused on supporting brands and creating jobs via our three pillars reputation, education and innovation.”

A report from The British Beauty council showed just how much the beauty industry contributes to the UK economy.
