GSWS launches forum to boost growth in destination spa market
The Global Spa & Wellness Summit (GSWS) is to hold its first destination spa forum as part of the seventh annual summit in New Delhi, India, on October 5-7.
Set up with the aim of fostering discussion about the role of destinations spas in the international spa and wellness industry and to analyse how to approach challenges and maximise potential within the sector, the forum will take place on the first day of the summit.
Susie Ellis, chairman and chief executive of the GSWS, said: “In many ways, destination spas are the heartbeat of the industry. Creating health transformations is their very DNA.”
According to figures from non-profit research institute SRI International, destination spas only make up 2% of the world’s spas yet generate 13% of global spa revenue and account for 9% of employment.
