Huge team of nail techs raise nearly £6,000 for mental health charities

Nail tech Stephanie Staunton raised almost £6,000 for mental health charities at an event she organised under her own organisation, Nailing Mental Health.

Staunton organised the event, held at the Intercontinental Hotel at London’s O2 on April 2, as an attempt to break the record for the number of sets of nails painted in eight hours (6,078). Though the record wasn’t broken, Staunton and a team of 300 nail techs raised the sum through charging members of the public £5 to have their nails filed and painted green – the colour used by mental health charities.

The proceeds went to charities Mind and Samaritans. Nailing Mental Health will attempt the record again at Olympia Beauty on October 2.
