Kent Richards of Six Senses on what you can take away from WSW Convention 2019

There’s a brand new format for the World Spa & Wellness Convention next year, designed to give delegates even more opportunities to choose the key information they need to grow their spa businesses in the coming months. There are two core streams to the convention:
Stream 1. The business of spa: practical solutions to help tackle the real issues
Stream 2. Wellness: improving outcomes for clients as a key to customer acquisition and retention.
There will also be a series of panel debates on each stream of the programme, during which speakers will share real-life examples of initiatives that have allowed them to solve business challenges and increase turnover.
Kent Richards, Corporate Operations Director of Six Senses, will be discussing 'Vitality & Movement - Integrate fitness into your business model' and we had the opportunity to ask Kent what he hopes delagates can gain from this session -
What are you hoping delegates will learn from this discussion?
The importance of thinking wellness and using all the activities and programs at our disposal. At Six Senses Spas, we believe it is necessary to provide personalised programs and not "one size fits all" to our guests. Each person walking through our doors has different goals, circumstances and needs as well as enjoying different activities. All of this should be taken into account to provide the guest with a package they will enjoy which keeps them motivated to achieve their goal and maintain a healthy state of mind, body and soul. It’s the journey that counts and should be enjoyed, not only the end result.
What key tips/advice will you be sharing in this discussion?
My intention is to highlight two key points. Firstly, the public have different expectations from us compared to the operators of the large city gyms. I've been in both worlds and at Six Senses, guests want crafted experiences around their specific needs. They want their experience to include all things wellness helping them to reconnect with themselves, the people around them and the world in which we live. Secondly, our guests can live life to its full potential and enjoy either their wine or sweet tooth too. Well skilled wellness professionals can develop exciting programs of fitness, spa and wellness activities to have all guests reach their full potential.
