Last chance for therapists to influence advanced treatments training

Beauty therapists and clinic owners are invited to have their say in the newly proposed education framework for advanced treatments, currently being developed by Health Education England.

The group is holding its final stakeholder event on December 9, which will discuss the framework that was outlined in Phase 1 of the project and allow parties to have their say on proposals for Phase 2. This second phase is focused on making recommendations for accreditation and delivery of qualifications and developing options.

The training framework outlined in Phase 1 of the project, which Professional Beauty reported on back in the summer, indicated that advanced training would need to be undertaken to deliver treatments including injectables, skin needling, and laser, but that training would be open to beauty therapists.

This is the last chance for beauty industry representatives to have their say in the qualification requirements. Parties already confirmed to attend the event on December 9 will include Royal College of Surgeons and Department of Health, as well as Health Education England.
