LCBT pledges to get students industry ready

London College of Beauty Therapy has taken a step to bridge the gap between education and industry with the appointment of its first consulting industry ambassador.

Consultant and former Dove Spa director Fran Hayter will advise the college on how to make training more career focused and ensure students are kept up to date with current industry standards, trends and developments.

Fran Hayter LCBTThe Salon at LCBT will be also be changes so that students will be able to get experience in retail and presentation skills, as well as treatment skills.

Hayter will also helps LCBT to expand the number of spa and salon employers that work with the college and employ staff through its Job Shop scheme.

Hayter said: “I want to bring the best employers in the industry to LCBT looking for their next employees. However, that means we have to continue to produce the best possible potential beauty therapists, not only technically but also in the way they behave and look. They need to be ready to face the next challenge of their lives, going into the real work place”.
