Macdonald Craxton Wood Spa has £2m makeover

Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel & Spa has undergone a £2m refurbishment, to give it a luxury destination spa retreat feel with a focus on wellness.

Set in 27 acres of woodland the Vital Health & Wellbeing Club at the hotel spa now has thermal experiences featuring an aroma steam room, rock sauna, ice fountain, experience shower, two-foot spas, and rasul mud therapy and holistic wellness therapies.  

The spa has also recruited private spa butlers, and developed facilities to include dark and light relaxation areas, a woodland garden, a woodland spa cafe, a dedicated nail and aroma bar area, an 18-metre swimming pool with sauna and steam room and a gymnasium with private consultation area and a studio.

The spa menu includes treatments from British spa brand Elemis and holistic therapies such as physiotherapy and reiki.

The hotel has also been upgraded with new garden view rooms and a wine tasting room.
