The Minor Hotel Group has announced the first two Anantara properties in North Africa.

The Anantara Tozeur Resort in Tunisia and the Anantara Al Houara Tangier Resort in Morocco are both scheduled to open in 2017. Both resorts are being developed in partnership with real estate company Qatari Diar.

The 93-room and villas Anantara Tozeur will be located in south-western Tunisia and feature an Anantara Spa, a health club and a range of restaurants and bars, as well as meeting and events facilities and kids and teen clubs.

With 230 rooms, Anantara Al Houara will form part of Qatari Diar’s Al Houara development in Tangier in northern Morocco, a project that will also include luxury apartments for sale, an 18-hole golf course and private beaches, among other features.

Hotel facilities will include an Anantara Spa, a wellness and a fitness centre, a selection of dining options and club facilities for children and teenagers.

Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive of the Minor Hotel Group, said: "We are excited to announce these two new Anantara resorts in North Africa in partnership with Qatari Diar.

Our Anantara brand is now well established in the Middle East and we are keen to add North Africa to our footprint."
