Murad founder to receive legacy award

Dr Howard Murad has been named 2016 Legacy Honouree by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. He is the founder of Murad skincare and a board-certified dermatologist.

BCL is a non-profit initiative dedicated to highlighting how individuals working in the hair, beauty and wellness industries can change lives, and awards professionals who nurture, mentor, support and inspire the industry’s next generation of talent.

Dr Murad is the first professional to represent both the wellness and aesthetics industries to receive the honour. "Dr Murad's Inclusive Health philosophy and program has empowered so many people to not just look better, but also to live better," said BCL president Lynelle Lynch. The BCL selection panel was inspired by Dr Murad's efforts to integrate beauty and wellness into his life and work, and his commitment to lifelong learning.”

As an on-going supporter of BCL, in the US Dr Murad has established The Murad Esthetic Education Scholarship Program, designed to provide an opportunity for students to win a monetary scholarship towards their tuition. Winners receive $2,250.00, a Murad skincare kit and the opportunity to be paired with a Murad Mentor to further their education and inspire their career.

It was recently announced that Murad skincare is to be bought by personal care giant Unilever. Read the story here.
