Free nail polish recycling scheme for salons launching in January

A free nail polish bottle recycling service for salons is launching in the UK in January, helping beauty businesses to become more eco-friendly.

Created by distributor Louella Belle, the recycling scheme RecycleBelle will take salons empty nail polish, gel-polish and cuticle oil bottles and dispose of them sustainably.

This initiative is following in the footsteps of others trying to make the industry greener, such as the free glass recycling scheme for beauty businesses.

The nail bottle items will be collected by a recycling company and sorted into different materials, which will then be recycled or reused in the best way possible.

Salons will be able to return up to four empty nail bottles in each pre-paid, eco-friendly envelope, not just brands distributed by Louella Belle, and a small amount of residue is acceptable.

Louella Belle customers will receive a 15% discount on their next order when they return four or more bottles.

The scheme will go live on January 1, 2020. Will you be using the service?

The war against single-use plastics is still ongoing in the beauty world, especially with the Government cutting down on plastic waste and with talks of wet wipes potentially being the next item to be banned

Here are eight ways you can make your salon more eco-friendly
