SHA announces third property in global expansion programme

Set to launch in 2023, the UAE-based Emirates at AlJurf will be the third SHA Wellness resort to open internationally.

Located approximately halfway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, AlJurf is a destination being created by Abu Dhabi developers Imkan.

Situated on a pristine coastline— Sahel Al Emarat – the area is set to becomethe Riviera of the Emirates.

The luxury resort will span a total of 125,000 sq m and comprise 120 rooms and 293 private residencies designed in sympathy with its stunning coastal environment.

It will offer a fusion of Eastern disciplines and cutting-edge Western techniques with the aim of transforming guests' lives through specialised programmes that typically last seven to 14 days.

“The collaboration between IMKAN and SHA Wellness Clinic has brought SHA Emirates to AlJurf, with the facility being the first in the Middle East,” said Walid El-Hindi, chef executive officer of IMKAN.

“Our aim is to fully support living a healthy lifestyle and become a catalyst for health and wellness in the UAE.

“SHA Emirates’ philosophy is that the very best health for mind, body and soul is attained through marrying optimum nutrition and therapy with external elements of luxurious and relaxing surroundings.”

Integrating medical and holistic wellness, SHA was created by the Bataller family with its first clinic opening in Spain in 2008.

The company’s first international property will open in Mexico in 2021, closely followed by its entry into the Middle East with Emirates at AlJurf.

SHA Wellness Clinic vice president, Alejandro Bataller Pineda said: “For years we travelled to dozens of locations in search of the perfect nature, warm weather, and accessibility to replicate SHA.

“It was not easy, but we finally found everything we could imagine and more at the seaside destination of AlJurf, in the United Arab Emirates.

“The luxury development is surrounded by wildlife and nestled in a beautiful serene landscape. It’s the perfect place for people looking to escape city life and recuperate.”

SHA has also hinted at a longer-term strategy to open properties across all continents in a rapid expansion drive.
