SHA Wellness Clinic kick-starts global expansion with two new destination clinics
Building on the success of its original Spanish clinic, SHA Wellness has announced the launch of two new properties on different continents within the next three years.
Integrating medical and holistic wellness, SHA was created by the Bataller family in 2008 and its first international property will open in Mexico in 2021.
A second location will be announced imminently, with longer-term plans to open properties across all continents.
SHA Mexico will be located in the Quintana Roo state of Cancun across the bay from Isla Mujeres, just 30 minutes from Cancun’s international airport.
The property will stay true to the brand’s principles of sustainability, employing natural construction materials and renewable energy sources in order to minimise environmental impact.
Offering all guests uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean, the spa will have 100 suites as well as private residences.
Mexican architecture studio Sordo Madaleno and interiors architect Alejandro Escudero have collaborated on the design and the ocean-side property will be located in seven hectares of lush flora and fauna, just steps away from a pristine stretch of white sandy beach.
Mexican ceramics, marble, wicker and locally-sourced fabrics will bring together the interiors creating a calming and relaxed environment for guests.
Since its 2008 launch, SHA has positioned Spain on the health and wellness map.
The expansion plan has been carefully developed by the owners to reflect the consumer demand to place health and wellbeing at the forefront of all areas of life – business and personal.
The SHA Method, developed and supervised by world-renowned experts, integrates preventive, genetic and anti-ageing medicine with the most effective natural therapies, giving special attention to highly therapeutic nutrition.
SHA Wellness Clinic offers truly bespoke programmes carefully adapted to meet the needs of each guest upon arrival.
Earlier this year, travel review and booking site TripAdvisor said bookings for wellness experiences increased by 69% year on year in 2018 and the trend is set to continue.
