Our View from the Beauty Closet: Seche's Collection is Clever and Confident
As we move into autumn (or abruptly into winter), we’re greeted with the many Autumn/Winter Nail Collections and prepare for the darker autumnal hues. Seche has launched their Clever and Confident nail colours for A/W13 and it features a mix of all the shades we saw on the catwalk this season – oxblood, emerald green, midnight blue, amethyst…and orange?
I would have photographed the green and orange but they exploded on their way to the beauty closet.
The colours are opulent, highly pigmented and bright, acting to perfectly offset and lift the heaviness of autumn.
The oxblood red, Intuition, is quite possibly the perfect autumn shade. The colour is a slightly purplier version of Chanel’s classic Rouge Noir, and packed with shimmer. The unique thing about this polish is that the colour is multifaceted, moving from a dark red sheen to a shimmery aubergine depending on what light you’re in.
The formula, however, is definitely the standout feature to this polish, and quite possibly the best I've experienced. The colour was supremely glossy and opaque after only one coat; I could literally see my own reflection in my nails (not that that’s high up on my priority list but anyway…impressive). It also fared very well on my nails, despite the slapdash application, proving chip resistant for a week. Finish off with a coat of their cult Seche Vite topcoat and voila, the perfect autumn mani. Highly recommended.
Seche will be on stand E35 at Professional Beauty North, taking place on 13-14 October at Manchester Central. Register for your free ticket and benefit from the trade prices!
