PB Upskills (March 8–12): waxing trends and how to communicate with staff

Our PB Upskills programme for March 8–12 has a wealth of information available for those who want to swot up on tips and techniques in coronavirus lockdown so they can reopen their beauty business strong. 

From a masterclass on how to create Facebook and Instagram ads that attract maximum new bookings, to advice on the new waxing techniques and trends to be working into your menu this year.

We will also have a live session on how you can communicate with your staff more effectively to get the best out of them, as well as some valuable Covid-19 lockdown lessons from titans of industry – Australian Bodycare’s Fiona Peerless and Mosaic Spa & Health Clubs’ Dave Courteen. 

 

What to expect from our PB Upskills series (March 8–12):

 

Monday 8 March – 12pm – Digital Skills Live with Scott Dance – “How to win new clients and revenue using Facebook and Instagram ads” 

In this joint Professional Beauty and Hairdressers’ Journal Digital Skills Live, Scott Dance, digital marketing expert and founder of Salon Revenue Growth, will reveal how to create Facebook and Instagram ads that attract maximum new bookings, including the Direct Response strategy that works best for salons, so you can bounce back stronger than ever when you reopen. There will be a 10-minute audience Q&A at the end.

Tuesday 9 March – 1pm – Tough Talk – “Live with Dave Courteen, managing director of Mosaic Spa & Health Clubs”

Our Tough Talk sessions tell the story of how industry titans got to the top of their field. This week, Professional Beauty managing director Mark Moloney will be chatting with Dave Courteen, managing director of Mosaic Spa and Health Clubs, who has grown his business over the past 30 years from one site into a multi-site contract management business operating health clubs and day spas (primarily in hotels). Courteen will share the secrets to his success, the mistakes he has made along the way and his view on how the spa industry will survive the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tuesday 9 March – 4pm – Practical Skills Live with Professor Ali Ghanem – “Level 5 professional qualifications in chemical peels – your questions answered”

In this joint Professional Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine Q&A session, Professor Ali Ghanem, the British Institute of Aesthetic Medicine (BIAM) course leader, will answer questions on the Level 5 fully-accredited chemical peels course. Get detailed information on what you can expect from the curriculum and ask your questions on protocols, clinical practice, client care and more.

Wednesday 10 March – 12pm – Practical Skills Live with Marta Zaczkowska – “The waxing trends and ingredients for 2021 and how to turn them into profit for your business”

In this Practical Skills live session, Marta Zaczkowska, owner of The Waxing Specialist salon and training academy in London, will reveal the waxing techniques, products and ingredients that promise to be popular with clients in the year ahead. She will outline how to choose and perfect the right techniques and tools for your business, covering recycling and sustainability, as well as how to achieve results that will keep clients loyal. There will be a 10-minute audience Q&A at the end where you can ask Zaczkowska your burning questions.

Thursday 11 March – 11am – Practical Skills Live with Phil Elder – “How to effectively communicate with your staff”

In this joint Professional Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine Practical Skills Live session, multiple business owner Phil Elder, who has companies such as Neos Clinic and accountancy practice RSZ Accountancy in his portfolio, delivers a refresher course on how to communicate with your staff effectively and positively during these uncertain times, covering the key pillars of listening, speaking, body language and more. There will be a 10-minute audience Q&A at the end.
