2017 Show Highlights

Professional Beauty & HJ Live Ireland took place last weekend 24-25 September 2017 at the RDS, Dublin.

HJ Live Ireland

2017 saw the launch of HJ Live Ireland – Ireland’s first exhibition to cater specifically for hair professionals. The HJ Live Stage was jam-packed with exciting demonstrations from some of the UK & Ireland’s most creative teams, including CULt and Aidan Fitzgerald. Leading brands such as Kevin.Murphy, Paul Mitchell, Kreative Salon Supplies and Style Parlour showcased their product ranges and offered exclusive discounts to visitors.

S.O.S - Support Our Salons

This year also saw the launch of the S.O.S: Support Our Salons campaign, which invited salon owners and managers to share their experiences of a challenge they had faced and overcome within their salon business. The winning entry was Emma Heaney, an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner who opened her clinic Elite Aesthetic Clinic during the era of 'duck-lips' and 'pillow-faces' and whose ethos is promoting safety and education within the aesthetics industry.

Emma was presented her certificate by Professional Beauty Organiser, Mark Moloney, and has won over €5,500 worth of prizes sponsored by Catherine Trebble, Susan Routledge, Novalash and The Beauty School Ltd.

Second and third place in the competition was awarded to Noleen Carragher and Carol Rooney respectively.

The Salon & Spa Owners' Convention

The Salon & Spa Owners’ Convention took place on Sunday 24th September, offering practical business advice for salon and spa owners. Sessions included ‘Futureproof your finances’, ‘The new wave of social meda’ and ‘The client of the future’, as well as a keynote presentation by leading Success Coach, Speaker and author of ‘The Mind Makeover’, Sharron Lowe.

Championships

The Irish Nails and Warpaint Ireland Championships took place on Monday 25 September, alongside Professional Beauty Ireland. Once again the championships hosted some of the country’s most creative talent, from both students and professionals.

Professional Beauty Live Stages

The Professional Beauty Live Stages offered a wide range of education, free to attend for all visitors. Sessions included make-up demonstrations from leading make-up artists Michelle Regazolli Stone of MRS Make-Up and Louise McDonnell of LMD Hair & Make-up, to skincare advice from Jennifer Rock AKA The Skin Nerd, and practical marketing and business advice from Connor Keppel of Phorest Salon Software.

Exhibitors also hosted exciting demonstrations on their stands, such as a spray tanning demo by Grace Mongey of 'Faces by Grace' on the BPerfect stand, and Inventor Tom showcased the latest version of the StylPro Make-Up Brush Cleaner & Drier on the StylPro stand. Leading Irish blogger Lisa Jordan was also present to promote the launch of her new product range LUNA by Lisa Jordan.

We are delighted at the success of this year’s show and would like to thank all those who attended, as well as the exhibitors, speakers, judges and those who contributed to the running of the show.

We look forward to welcoming you back to next year’s show, which will take place on 7-8 October 2018. To register your interest for this event, please click here.
