Sam Pearce wins business award
Sam Pearce, owner of The Potting Shed spa in Batley, has been recognised at the Forward Ladies Yorkshire and North East Women in Business Awards (WIBA) regional final.
Pearce said: "I am truly honoured to have won this award for my work in the beauty industry, and to represent the North at the National finals in November is such an exciting opportunity. The other winners and finalists are truly inspirational women and it is privilege to be amongst such esteemed company.”
The event was hosted by ITV News presenter Charlene White at The Crowne Plaza in Newcastle on September 29, where 77 female business leaders from across the region competed in 11 categories. The regional winners from each category will go on to compete in the national final to be crowned winner, taking place on November 20 in Leeds. First, the winners will be judged at a live session with the held at HSBC’s offices in Leeds, the headline sponsor of the awards.
The WIBAs is now in its sixth year. It awards accolades to women for their contribution to the economy. Griselda Togobo, managing director at Forward Ladies said: “This year we received a number of outstanding entries from right across Yorkshire and the North East and the awards really did showcase some of the best talent and businesses from across the region.”
