Soft opening for the JW Marriott Venice
The JW Marriott Venice has soft opened, ahead of its official opening on June 24. Amenities at the 250-room resort include the largest spa in the city.
The JW Marriott Venice, located on its own private Venetian island, Isola delle Rose, is the brand’s first property in Italy and its sixth in Europe.
The hotel houses the 1,750sq m Goco Spa Venice, created by spa consultancy and management company Goco Hospitality.
Facilities at the eight treatment-room spa, scheduled to open at the beginning of May, will include an indoor and an outdoor pool, a hammam, a spa suite and a fitness centre.
Natural skincare brand Amnala and results-focused QMS Medicosmetics will be used at the spa.
Treatments on the menu will range from body scrubs and wraps and facials and massages, to manicures and pedicures, waxing services and a selection of treatments for men.
Accommodation at the resort is divided into five options: The Hotel, with 191 rooms; La Villa Rosa, a two-bedroom villa with its own pool and garden; La Residenza, featuring 12 rooms designed in a Mediterranean style; L’Uliveto, comprising 26 rooms with views of the property’s olive groves and; La Maisonette, which includes 20 two-level suites with private patios and garden.
The three latter accommodation options all open at the end of April. The property sits on 40 acres, with its own fruit and olives groves. Among the other amenities at the resort is a rooftop pool, a kid’s club, a family pool, facilities for water sports – including sailing and Venetian rowing – and four restaurants.
Mitzi Gaskins, vice president and global brand manager for JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, said: "The opening of our first property in Italy marks a time of great growth and development for the JW Marriott brand."
