Peninsula Hotels relaunches wellness programme

The Peninsula hotel group is relaunching its wellbeing offering, Peninsula Wellness, on April 1.

New additions to the wellness concept, which originally launched in 2006, include the opening of the first Peninsula Wellness Centre, at the spa at The Peninsula Bangkok on March 24.

Services offered at the centre will include courses and programmes by visiting health and wellness experts.

A two-hour Peninsula Sleep Ceremony will also be introduced. Developed in conjunction with skincare brand Espa, the treatment is designed to help stressed travellers unwind and includes a sleep bath, breathing techniques, a hot stone massage, guided meditation and a face massage.

Dishes are also being added to the Naturally Peninsula healthy dining menu, which centres on using naturally sourced ingredients. New options include gluten-free, protein-high and low-sugar dishes.

Kim Murphy, The Peninsula Hotels' Naturally Peninsula nutrition advisor, said: "There is a growing awareness about the connection between nutrition and how we feel in our daily lives, and Naturally Peninsula gives guests new dining choices."

Cooking classes focused on using fresh and healthy ingredients will be introduced later in the year. A new Sattva by Simply Peninsula range of spa products are treatments will also launch later in 2015.

Developed for Peninsula by Australian Ayurveda and aromatherapy spa brand Subtle Energies, products in the range include essential oils, clays and Himalayan crystal salts.

Treatments combine traditional Ayurveda approaches with modern techniques and include the Sattva Vedic Aromatherapy Full Body and Facial Marma Treatment and the Sattva Detox Signature Journey.
