Luxury spa and hotel to open in Portsmouth in the autumn
Leyland-based World Leisure has won a contract with construction firm Willmott Dixon to build a spa at the £19.9m Village Hotel being built at Lakeside North Harbour in Portsmouth.
The spa will include a 20m leisure pool, sauna and steam room – a similar installation to the one the company installed at Village Hotel Glasgow – and will sit alongside a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio.
World Leisure managing director, Simon Smith, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract, our fourth for the Village Hotel group, and are looking forward to unveiling the completed facilities in Autumn 2017.”
The hotel will also comprise 153 rooms and conference facilities and will debut the new Village Hotel concept, as designed by architects 3DReid.
The concept will deliver an evolution of the current resort offer on a more compact footprint, providing potential for the company to expand into more central urban areas, where sites are generally smaller in size.
World Leisure provides a complete range of design, technical and installation services for the water leisure industry and has picked up several gold standard awards at the UK Pool & Spa Scene Awards.
