The UK’s Swinton Park has broken ground on its new spa development.

The North Yorkshire hotel is currently undergoing a £5.5 million (US$8.7m) project renovation, which will include a spa and health club.

The first phase of construction is set to be completed in November this year. The second construction stage on the 2,700sqm development will see work begin on a new wing that will include expanded spa and wellness facilities.

Among these will be six treatment rooms, a treatment suite, two pools, a rasul and three other heat experiences and a fitness centre

Felicity Cunliffe-Lister, owner of Swinton Park, said: “This development is an important milestone in our long term vision for Swinton Park and we welcome the challenge of a project of this scale, which is the culmination of a long, meticulous design and planning process.”

The existing spa will remain open to guests during the construction of the new facilities.
