Sephora announces new Birmingham store

Iconic beauty retailer Sephora's first UK locations outside of London are set to open this year, offering a new shopping experience for beauty enthusiasts in the Midlands and the North.

Sephora has announced that it is opening its sixth UK store in Birmingham's Bullring in winter 2024.

This follows existing stores in London and Manchester, as well as two new locations which will open in Newcastle in autumn 2024 – Eldon Square and the Metrocentre

Some of the stores provide in-store beauty services, with a team of beauty advisers offering bookable treatments including makeup, facials and brows.

Sephora UK's managing director, Sarah Boyd, said, "We’ve once again harnessed the power of listening to our customers to shape our expansion plans around the UK, and the appetite that our beauty community in Birmingham made was profoundly powerful.

"The demand we have seen on social media and customer enquiries, particularly on the back of the Manchester opening and Newcastle announcements has been phenomenal, and we are thrilled to announce that we will be welcoming Birmingham customers in the iconic Bullring in winter 2024."

Where is Sephora in the UK?

Sephora currently has two locations in London – Westfield Stratford City and Westfield White City – which it opened in 2023.

There is also a Sephora store in Manchester's Trafford Centre which opened in May 2024.

The White City store features over 135 brands – with some physically retailing in the UK for the first time, including beauty products from Tarte Cosmetics, Haus Labs by Lady Gaga, Glow Recipe, Supergoop!, Danessa Myricks and Kosas.

Sephora also retails a range of professional spa, skincare and beauty brands, including Medik8, Dermalogica, Elemis, Advanced Nutrition Programme, Comfort Zone, Evolve Beauty and Aromatherapy Associates.

The heart of the White City store features a Grand Beauty Hub where customers can explore make-up, skincare, haircare, fragrance, body and personalised gifting.

Sephora's relaunch into the UK started in October 2022 when the Feelunique website, which Sephora acquired, became sephora.co.uk.

The new website, twinned with the Sephora App, offers UK consumers a way to buy Sephora’s selection of products, which includes some professional brands of makeup, skincare and wellness products, as well as retail-only brands.

Alongside this are a wide range of premium beauty brands, including Pat McGrath Labs, Fenty Beauty, Rare Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury, Gisou, JVN and more.

Chris de Lapuente, chairman and chief executive of Sephora, said, “We are delighted to bring Sephora to the UK, responding to Britain’s strong demand for our unique prestige beauty experience.

“UK customers will be encouraged to explore and discover the best versions of themselves as we support them in their beauty journey with a fantastic curation of time-tested classics and new indie brands.

“We will offer British consumers a pioneering selection of beauty that is best in class for innovation, diversity and inclusion. The UK is home to a dynamic beauty and wellbeing market that Sephora will aim to surprise and delight through our trademark know how and creativity. Our passionate team cannot wait to serve and inspire UK customers under the Sephora brand.”
