Urban Retreat among first businesses to join Habia register
Urban Retreat and three other UK salons and spas have become the first establishment in their countries to join Habia's professional registers for the beauty, nails and spa industries.
Laguna Spa in Wales, Blythswood Square in Scotland and Natural Beauty in Northern Ireland have all signed up to the scheme, alongside the famous salon chain.
Each spa and salon business has voluntarily registered its staff, whom have met the range of criteria developed by an independent technical group and Habia’s expert forums. The registers are accessible to the general public so they can identify industry professionals.
Jo Harris of Urban Retreat in London said: “It is the right time for an independent register to provide clarity over who is competent to administer treatments and who is not.”
Martine Broggy of Natural Beauty, said: “We are very pleased to see the registers launch and I understand that we are the first salon in Northern Ireland to have all our therapists registered.”
Carl Lester of Laguna Spa agrees that it will provide reassurance to the public about competence of staff conducting treatments and Leon Trayling of Blythswood Square added that “it is a fantastic idea and well overdue”.
The three registers for beauty, nails and spa professionals have been developed to help raise professional and quality standards as well as boost consumer confidence. To find out more visit Habia on stand L42 at Professional Beauty London ExCeL on February 23-24, 2014.
