The 580 sqm hotel spa, close to Snowdonia national park, has been designed in collaboration with thermal equipment specialist Dale Sauna and construction company Pro Build.

The spa comprises a wellness thermal area centred around a large swimming pool and adjoining vitality pool surrounded by day beds and heated seats.

The lighting in the pool area is low and blue toned, to remind guests how close they are to the natural surrounding water outside.

The wellness suite houses a Himalayan salt sauna, infrared sauna  with radiant heat to detoxify and enhance wellbeing, an aromatic steam room promoting respiratory health and a traditional dry heat sauna

Wet facilities include an experience shower and foot baths, included to soothe the feet of guests who have been hiking in the nearby national parks.

Upstairs is a new spa café, where guests can relax in their robes and enjoy healthy spa cuisine, or traditional Welsh afternoon teas.

There are also eight new treatment rooms, offering face and body treatments from Oskia, which manufactures its products in Wales.

Adjacent to the café sits a relaxation room with rose-coloured twinkling lights and comfortable seating.

The spa is working with cloud based software provider Trybe as its booking system for treatment and spa use.

Stephanie Parry, who has previously held spa manager roles at The Spa at Carden in Cheshire as well as Champneys and Macdonald Hotels, has been appointed as deputy general manager at the Quay Hotel and Spa.

With her previous experience in spa, Parry will head up a team of 15 therapists.

With the addition of the new spa, the hotel has recruited a further two leisure staff members and two spa apprentices in a bid to give local young people the opportunity to grow their career in hospitality and spa.

The Quay Hotel & Spa’s general manager Brid Adams said, "With the addition of the new spa at The Quay, the resort offers a complete experience for our guests – a place to unwind, relax, take a break from the world and enjoy a luxury spa experience. And what better way to complete the day than by watching a glistening sunset with a spectacular view of Conwy Castle?"
