Karen Betts takes reins at High Definition as Nilam Holmes-Patel leaves
Karen Betts, co-founder of High Definition and co-director of Nouveau Lashes and Nouveau Beauty Group, is to lead beauty brand High Definition after former CEO Nilam Holmes-Patel announced she is to step down from the company.
Betts and Holmes-Patel launched High Definition in 2008 as a brow-focused brand. It since expanded to include a make-up line in 2014 and nail systems last year.
Betts commented: “As Nilam leaves to carry on her journey outside of High Definition, I am committed to continuing the legacy of must-have salon treatments, prestige cosmetics and world-class education with the same passion she has given for so many years.
“Our brand is built on the support and commitment of more than 10,000 stylists and stockists across the UK, and they are my key focus as we move forward. My team and I value each and every salon partner and our commitment to the salon industry is as strong as ever.”
She said the brand’s focus for 2017 would be on cementing its heritage as a brow brand and growing its make-up line.
Commenting on her departure from the company, Holmes-Patel said: “It is with sadness that I announce I am leaving High Definition. I am thankful for the amazing journey I have had working with great people to develop an innovative treatment system and products. Together we have transformed the way people look at brows and created a strong eyebrow sector in the beauty industry. I would like to especially thank the High Definition team and all our stylists for their hard work, passion, patience and loyalty, which has made the brand what it is today.”
