2014 Sustainability Beauty Awards winners announced

The winners of the 2014 Sustainability Beauty Awards were announced last week, in an awards ceremony held at the Paris Marriott Hotel Champs-Elysees. 

US brand Aveda won the Sustainability Leadership award, for its continued commitment to sustainability, dating back to its establishment in 1978. 

Aveda’s late founder Horst Rechelbacher was also awarded the inaugural Sustainability Lifetime Achievement award. 

Cruelty Free International, an organisation working to prohibit animal testing for cosmetic products around the world, won the Sustainability Pioneer award, for its role in this year’s EU ban on testing cosmetic products on animals. 

French business Laboratoires Nuxe won the Sustainability Packaging award for the eco-friendly design of its jars, while Australian company Abache Organics won the Green Formulations award, for its range of professional organic hair products.
