3D-lipo appoints operations manager to fuel business growth

Due to continued expansion both in the UK and overseas, 3D-lipo has appointed Simon Marsh as head of operations.

This comes at a time of rapid growth for the company, and with Marsh's added value and experience, 3D-lipo intends to steer the brand forward to become a more structured organisation as it grows, enabling it to be better prepared for solid sustained future growth, taking the company through ISO 13485, while ensuring efficient control of processes throughout all areas of the business.

3D-lipo has welcomed Marsh to the team. He has previously held the position of operations director with a leading ophthalmic lens producer, Nikon Optical UK, covering areas including customer services, production, engineering, QA, inventory, logistics and supply chain. His responsibilities included strategic planning and implementation, goal setting and resource management, budget planning and forecasting, new product implementation and stakeholder relationship management.

Marsh joined Nikon at its inception in the UK, being heavily involved in the initial factory build, due to his ophthalmic manufacturing and engineering backgrounds, having previously been a qualified optician.

After the company was set up, March became a key member of the management team, growing the business from a low base into a market leading international supplier, renowned for its quality and service in a particularly demanding marketplace, ensuring a viable manufacturing base remained in the UK through cost control, continuous improvement methodology and product differentiation.

Commenting on the appointment, 3D-lipo managing director Roy Cowley said: “As my company grows and also due to the increased workload and complexities of areas such as the ISO 13485 and medical registrations for our equipment, it requires the additional expertise of an operations manager that has both previous experience and a proven track record in business management. Simon has spent the last 18 years at Nikon Optical UK, the last 13 years as operations director, controlling a turnover of £12 million  and a workforce of 120.

He added: "Running any corporation has direct transferable benefits to a new business and Simon will be focusing initially on the implementation of the ISO13485 operating procedures within all of the head office departments, an area that he has vast experience in. I am sure you will all join me in welcoming Simon on board to 3D-lipo Ltd and I look forward to working alongside him with a joint goal of taking the company to the next level!”-
