5 reasons to attend the 2019 World Spa & Wellness Convention

The 2019 World Spa & Wellness Convention is right around the corner – join us at ExCeL exhibition centre in London on Sunday, February 24 and Monday, February 25 for an event not to be missed. Here’s five reasons why:

  1. The World Spa & Wellness Convention covers the most pressing and relevant topics facing spa, wellness and hotel operators today; delivering new insight and ideas on the latest trends and challenges.

This year, there are two core streams to the convention designed to give you even more opportunities to choose the key information you need –

Stream 1. The business of spa: practical solutions to help tackle the real issues

Stream 2. Wellness: improving outcomes for clients as a key to customer acquisition and retention.

Stream 1 includes sessions on what investors are really looking for when it comes to wellness, spa and beauty investments with founder of ESPA, Susan Harmsworth as chair. As well as a digital marketing session with Jane Kitchen, spa business journalist chairing.

On the other hand, in Stream 2 you can attend “Can spa concepts transcend oceans? Spa brands based on short term trends need to customise their approach to survive in overseas markets” and “Vitality & Movement - Integrate fitness into your business model” with Professional Beauty Group’s Managing Director as chair.

  1. The convention offers one of the year’s few opportunities to hear many of the most experienced and high-profile names in the sector speak, sharing their input and expertise.

Keynote speakers include major players such as Matthew Allison, founder and chief executive of Space Cycle, on how to disrupt an industry that doesn’t know it needs disrupting; and Neil Orvay, founder and chief executive of Sense of Touch, on how to win friends and influence people – using neurolinguistics programming in everyday life.

  1. The World Spa & Wellness Convention is not only a chance to hear leading industry professionals speak, but also to network with them, and with your spa and wellness peers and colleagues.

In addition to the two key streams, for the first time, the 2019 convention will also feature “situation rooms” on two key topics – ramping up a successful opening, and managing a strategic turnaround. Delegates can choose to join one of three morning sessions, for day spas, hotel spas and resort spas, and witness how our roundtables of experts deal with these two challenges.

The WSWC also offers plenty of networking breaks, including a drinks reception in the evening on Saturday, February 23, extensive lunch/networking breaks, coffee breaks on both days, and the World Spa & Wellness Awards on Sunday, February 24, which many convention speakers and delegates attend.

  1. The World Spa & Wellness Convention takes places as part of the Professional Beauty show at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London. A leading trade event for the spa, beauty and wellness sectors, the show annually attracts around 33,000 visitors over two days and draws more than 800 brands from across the sectors, as exhibitors.

As the biggest beauty trade show in the UK and one of the largest in Europe, Professional Beauty sees a wide range of product launches every year and is a fantastic opportunity to see the latest innovations, and get a feel for the trends set to shape the industry.

Industry areas represented at the show will range from skincare, furniture, software, machines and equipment and organic and natural products, to nails, brows and lashes, makeup and tanning and waxing. Whether you’re looking for new suppliers and products for your spa, or simply want to delve into what’s new – this is the place to do it, and convention delegates have free entry to the show.

    5.The Live Wellness Zone

In recognition of the growing links between spa and fitness, Professional Beauty and World Spa & Wellness London will have a bigger than ever focus on wellness this year.

New for 2019, the Live Wellness Zone will feature demonstrations and workshops on the wellness and fitness trends that will shape 2019, from the leading players in this industry.

Sessions include Everyday Mindfulness for Busy Wellness Professionals with Anis Qizilbash, Jordan Fitness will be showcasing how Spa’s, Hotels, Health & Fitness Centres can utilise their small spaces as functional fitness zones using the brand new HIIT Bench and Harriet Smith will be hosting a unique experience Sound Healing experience which is designed to help the mind and body relax.
