Ark at Home hires former Ann Summers director to sign 300 therapists

Ark at Home has headhunted former Ann Summers sales director Dee Staines to drive its plan to sign 300 mobile therapists to its books in the next 12 months.

The appointment of Staines as sales director precedes plans to launch the party planning business nationwide in September.

Professional Beauty reported back in March that Ark was planning to launch mobile therapy and party planning business Ark at Home in April. However, the skincare brand put the nationwide launch of the business on hold until Staines could join.

Peter Clarke, director of Ark at Home, said: “Staines has 20 years experience in party planning.”

Customers can now purchase the skincare range from their homes via “Ark Angels”, a team trained by the brand to demonstrate the products and offer treatments, beauty tips and special offers over an hour and a half.

?Since the soft launch in April, 100 Ark Angels have signed up and this is expected to grow with the nationwide launch of the business, which will be promoted by a roadshow in September. Four dates have been set for the roadshow at Gatwick, Bracknell, Penrith and Portadown, which were chosen because there is already a strong presence of Ark Angels in those areas explained Clarke. However, the roadshow will then hit Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Belfast in late September.

“The soft launch of Ark at Home has helped us get feedback from customers and Ark Angels. We have now outsourced fulfillment to [Sussex-based delivery specialist] International Logistics Group so customers receive their products within two days of ordering at the party,” explained Clarke.
