Center Parcs to open holiday village in Ireland
Holiday village provider Center Parcs has announced plans to open its first location in Ireland, in Newcastle Wood in County Longford.
The holiday village, scheduled to open in 2019, will sit on 375 acres of land and feature up to 500 lodges.
Just as the company’s five existing sites in the UK, the development will be created with families in mind.
Center Parcs Newcastle Wood is expected to offer as many as 100 types of activities, with facilities including a spa, a range of restaurants and cafés and the Center Parcs Subtropical Swimming Paradise with pools and water slides.
The €200million (£145m) development is expected to employ around 1,000 people, once completed, with a 2,500-guest capacity.
Martin Dalby, chief executive of Center Parcs, said: “We are thrilled and excited about the prospect of bringing the Center Parcs concept to families in Ireland.
This new Center Parcs will have all the ingredients that have made us so popular with families in the UK for the last 28 years and I am certain it will be a great success.”
