Hilton Lanzhou to open in northwestern China

Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with Lanzhou Friendship Hotel to open the brand’s first property in the northwestern Gansu province, the Hilton Lanzhou, in the first quarter of 2017.
The 389-room hotel will be located in the central business district of Lanzhou, the capital of the Gansu province, and will feature a spa, a health club and an indoor swimming pool, in addition to function and meeting rooms and a ballroom.
Francis Lee Wee-Hau, senior vice president of development, Greater China & Mongolia, at Hilton Worldwide said: "The introduction of our flagship Hilton property to Gansu province marks a chapter in our commitment to providing guests with greater access to China's northern and western markets.”
Dining facilities at the hotel will include three restaurants and a lobby lounge and bar and the top 32 floors of the Hilton Lanzhou will provide guests with views of the Yellow River and the surrounding landscape.
Chai Xue Yong, general manager of the Lanzhou Friendship Hotel, said: "With Hilton Worldwide, we are confident our partnership will help to enhance the city's reputation as a leading destination for business and tourism."
The hotel will constitute the first property by an international hotel brand in the city. Hilton Worldwide currently operates 36 properties in China, with plans to extend its footprint in the country to 150 hotels and 55,000 rooms over the next few years.
