PB at the Beauty Lounge A/W14
By Jade Burke, Professional Beauty Intern
With London Fashion Week upon us, the prospect of attending Fashion Monitor’s anticipated Beauty Lounge event this year was rather exciting.
Partnering alongside Feel Unique, Fashion Monitor created an exclusive pamper session over five evenings where we could try out an array of different treatments, including a Decléor mini massage, dry styling by Color Wow, St Tropez tanning, as well as eyebrow threading by Blink. PB of course decided to attend along with other beauty bloggers and journalists from other fashion and beauty magazines.
I chose to have the Margaret Dabbs shape and polish manicure, as I just can’t resist an opportunity to get my nails primped and polished. I had already picked out an icy blue shade, Sandrine, from the Rococo collection for my nails, which I’m pleased to say covered them in a creamy gloss. Each Margaret Dabbs manicure incorporates polishes from the Rococo range, which has added benefits for nails, as they are much less harsher on the nail bed. As each polish has been formulated without formaldehyde, DBP and toluene, nails are kept moisturised and protected.
The therapist began with a clear base coat, and once it had cured for a minute, began coating my nails with the Parisian blue. The polish dried instantly and after another minute of curing time, my nails were coated again in the glossy hue with added attention to the tips of my nails, as the therapist ensured the varnish reached the curve to guarantee longer-lasting and chip-free nails. Finally, the therapist used a clear topcoat, giving my nails a lasting shine.
Leaving with a perfectly polished set of talons, I would definitely consider getting a full manicure in one of the Margaret Dabbs Spas. Here’s hoping to another indulgent Beauty Lounge event next year.
