Survey reveals global pay for spa therapists
Australian, Swedish, US and Canadian spa therapists are among the best paid in the world, according to recent findings from the Global Spa & Wellness Summit.
Looking at therapists’ salaries in relation to the cost of living, the Metric Minute survey did, however, also find that the countries with the highest salaries similarly have the highest cost of living.
Sweden emerges as the overall best country to work as a spa therapist. Monthly salaries in Sweden are nearly as high as in Australia – the country where therapists are paid the most – £2,009 (US$3,130) for the former compared to £2,254 (US$3,512) for the latter.
The cost of living in Sweden is, however, 25% lower than in Australia, which is also the most expensive country to live in.
