Treatment review: Elemis Biotec Sonic White Brightening facial
What it is: The machine treatment launch from Elemis using its Biotec device aimed at targeting pigmentation and sun damage, and brightening the complexion.
How it works: The treatment is designed to bridge the gap between hands-on therapies and more advanced procedures, combines skincare from the White Brightening range with the Ultrasonic Peeling technology in the Biotec machine. My therapist at Elemis’s pop-up boutique in Mayfair began the treatment with a full consultation and skin scan to see where my problem areas are. I do have some pigmentation on my forehead and over my nose, as well as some congestion and open pores, which can also be targeted by this treatment.
The treatment begins with a thorough cleanse using the White Brightening Even Tone Cleanser, followed by the toner in the same range.
Then my therapist puts the machine to use, with the UItrasonic Peeling treatment head. It’s applied over my face to gently buff away the dead cells and draw out skin impurities and improve circulation. The core part of the treatment is the White Brightening Activator, which is packed with actives to help inhibit melanin production and reduced oxidative damage. This is massaged in with a very relaxing massage. Then comes the mask, which helps to regulate oil production in the skin, as well as ease congestion and create a matte effect on the skin. My therapist then applies to oil to nourish my skin, and finished with Biotec’s blue light therapy to help normalise skin.
Best for: It’s designed for clients with sun damage or hyperpigmentation, but it’s also a great treatment for clients looking for a fresher, more radiant complexion.
PB says: It would be great to have a course of treatments to see what effect it has on my pigmentation on my forehead. As a one-off though, it definitely left me with brighter, revitalised skin.
