7 of the best beauty moments from the Grammys 2023
The 65th annual Grammy Awards took place last night (February 5), hosted by comedian Trevor Noah at Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena.
Aside from record-breaking awards for Beyoncé and performances from Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige and Lizzo, one element of the night stood out to us: the beauty looks.

Make-up artist Alexx Mayo and nail tech Eri Ishizu teamed up for Record of the Year award winner Lizzo’s red carpet look.
For those wishing to recreate the look, Mayo broke down each element on Instagram, which, from skincare to finishing touches, was a full Charlotte Tilbury look.
The standout? Lizzo’s flushed cheeks and spiky lashes, custom made by Velour Beauty, which Mayo shared were “inspired by the 1960s mod era”.
Lizzo’s nails were also a stand-out, with Ishizu crafting an orange 3D masterpiece with moulded flowers to match her dress and hair accessories, creating “a monochromatic vibrant look that evokes a spring awakening”.

The classic look modernised old-school Hollywood glamour, with a glossed red lip and sharp eyeliner.

To create these claws, Boyce worked with jeweller Marrow Fine, who shared on its Instagram how the nails were created.
“We 3D scanned them and then created the cross embellishments in CAD (computer aided design and drafting). Grew them (the diamonds) in wax, cast them and set 150 tiny white diamonds (.76 ctw).”
