CG Funk joins The Massage Company as advisor to the board
Membership salon group The Massage Company has appointed spa industry expert CG Funk as consultant advisor to its board of directors.
Funk, who is the previous vice president of product development for US massage franchise Massage Envy, has 25 years’ industry experience.
During her 10 years with Massage Envy, Funk was instrumental in the company’s growth from 30 sites across the US to more than 1,000.
A well-known speaker with the spa and wellness industry, Funk also has experience as a massage trainer and as campus director for the Arizona School of Massage Therapy, among other roles.
Commenting on the appointment, she said: “I have much respect for The Massage Company’s focus on growth and quality. Launching a business that creates a new market in the UK is an amazing feat.
“I’m pleased to be joining this team and, together, we are focusing on a number of projects to facilitate franchise sales growth in the UK as well as building sound systems for franchisee training and support”.
The Massage Company opened its first site in Camberley, Surrey in March 2016. A further three, as yet undisclosed, sites are planned to open in the near future.
The Massage Company concept is focused on making regular massages accessible to the wider public, offering high-quality treatments at affordable prices and in convenient locations.
