China Fleet Country Club opens new spa

The China Fleet Country Club in Devon has opened its new Aqua Spa after a £500,000 refurbishment of the water facilities.

Following an eight-week project, the new spa features a laconium, salt and aroma steam rooms, Finnish sauna, ice chute, tropical and cold experience showers, relaxation area and heated loungers, making it one of the biggest wet spas in the South West.

The new facility will hopefully boost revenue from China Fleet’s membership programme, as well as allow the club to offer more spa breaks and spa packages.

The Aqua Spa, which opened its doors on December 6, sits alongside the existing Barn Spa, located in a converted barn on the club’s ground, which has six treatment rooms and offers therapies using skincare brands Dermalogica and Spietzia. Though the Barn and Aqua are in different buildings on the China Fleet site, the client journey between the two has been well managed, according to the club’s general manager of China Fleet, Dean Bennett.

Bennett said, “It has been really well received by our customers so far.”

The heat facilities were provided by Anapos, formerly Steamworks, whose portfolio of projects also includes Virgin Active.
