Clients most likely to adopt new skincare routines in September
After the New Year, September is the time of year consumers are most likely to rethink their skincare routines and invest in new products and regimes, according to Pinterest.
Branding September “the ‘new’ new year”, the ideas and image-sharing platform released statistics on searches related to the lifestyle changes users want to incorporate as we move into autumn.
Searches for beauty and wellness routines are among the top searches on the site during this period – “self-care routine” began trending around the end of August, with searches up by 140%.
In a survey Pinterest commissioned about consumers’ autumn preparation to coincide with the statistics, 45% of respondents said they feel more inclined to make small improvements that will increase their happiness at this time of year.
The website is also seeing a spike in searches relating to body positivity. Trending searches include “acne positivity”, up by 193%, “stretch marks positivity”, with a 163% increase, “body hair positivity”, up by 158% and “cellulite positivity”, with a rise in searches of 69%.
“Over the years, we’ve seen the end of summer become a distinct and significant moment on Pinterest when people want to make personal changes to refresh their routines, set goals, get organised and most importantly, stay positive,” said Enid Hwang, culture and community manager at Pinterest.
