January-to April is the most popular time of the year for spa bookings, according to new UK figures.
Research from UK spa bookings website Spaseekers show that the first four months of the year sees the highest number of bookings.
Monday is the most popular day of the week to book a spa visit or break, while the majority of spa-goers are based in the South East – though they are willing to travel for the right spa.
The research by Spaseekers, which has a nationwide database of more than 50,000 spa goers, also revealed that spa days that include afternoon tea are among the most popular booking options.
The company reported a 30% increase in group bookings between 2016 and 2017, with hen parties being the most popular type of group booking. The Spaseekers data also revealed that for the fist time, mobile devices are now the most popular mode for spa bookings.
The most popular locations on the Spasekers website are: Mercure Sheffield St Paul's Hotel and Spa; Whittlebury Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire; Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire; The Belfry Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield; and the Crowne Plaza Resort, Colchester Five Lakes.
