Get the look: colour block nails

UK beauty supplier Sally Salon Services has revealed how you can create one of the biggest nail art looks – colour block. The design, which is about expressing individuality and putting creativity in the spotlight, was created by tech Nina Subasic, who said the look is about "strong shapes and vivid shades". 

How to do colour block nails, by Nina Subasic 

Step one – Use ASP Powerset acrylic pink and sculpt the nails into a neat olive shape. Leave the length shorter to create an edgy look 

Step two – Taking inspiration from the colour-blocking trend, apply block colours of gel polish freehand to create a design. Subasic used shades from the ASP Signature range, including Shadow, Laguna, Monte Carlo, Juicy Lucy and Footsteps in the Snow 

Step three – Using a dotting tool and black gel polish, add definition with even lines of dots along the edges of your colour blocks 

Step four – Apply topcoat for a high-gloss finish.
