Gillian McGraffin appointed Swinton Park spa manager
Large-scale new UK spa Swinton Country Club & Spa has named Gillian McGraffin its new spa director.
McGraffin joins the Yorkshire spa, which opened on the privately owned Swinton Estate this summer, from The Grand Brighton hotel, where she was commercial spa director.
Before taking up the role at The Grand Brighton, McGraffin was business manager at makeup brand Bare Minerals, in charge of more than 300 accounts in the north west of England.
Her role with Bare Minerals included signing up new spa accounts and training spa teams on the brand. McGraffin’s career also includes spa coordinator and spa manager roles for UK amusement park Alton Towers.
Among other previous spa manger positions are spa and membership manager at Cowley Manor hotel in the Cotswolds and spa manager with a focus on day spa business at Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa in Cheshire.
Her remit at Swinton Country Club & Spa will comprise ensuring the customer journey is smooth and seamless, among other areas. Felicity Cunliffe-Lister, co-owner of the Swinton Estate, said of the appointment:

The 2,600sq m spa opened in July and is situated on the vast Swinton Estate, which boasts 20,000 acres of land.
Spa facilities include nine treatment rooms, including two couples’ suites and a thermal area with an 18-metre indoor pool, aroma and salt steam rooms, and Finnish and herbal saunas.
There is also an outdoor terrace with a natural pool with biofiltered water, a hot tub, alfresco sauna and loungers with sheepskin blankets.
Among the additional indoor facilities are a relaxation room, sleep room, the Beauty Cottage for treatments including manicures, pedicures and spray tans, and the Pulse gym.
