Great Sankey Leisure Centre in Warrington to benefit from luxury spa

Birchwood Town Council, based in Warrington, Cheshire, has announced a £10.8 million investment in the Great Sankey Leisure Centre in Warrington, with plans to add a luxury spa.

Described as a “neighbourhood hub”, the leisure centre is set to be transformed with a renovated swimming pool and gym, a new pharmacy and a commercial spa, to meet demand for better quality leisure and health services in the town. It is hoped the spa will help bring income into the area.

Cllr Tony Higgins, executive board member for culture, leisure and community, said: “The Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub will play a key role in the regeneration of the area, providing a leisure, health and wellbeing facility that the whole community can be proud of.

“This additional investment from the council will help maximise the potential of this fantastic facility. It’s part of our on-going drive to improve the health and wellbeing of residents in communities across Warrington.”
