HC LuxSpa to open first nail bar in Selfridges

Nail distributor Louella Belle will be opening its first retail and treatment nail bar on September 1, in partnership with medi-spa chain HC MedSpa. The first HC LuxSpa concession will open at Selfridges Birmingham on Monday.

HC LuxSpa will offer nail services, as well as retail professional standard nail products. Professional Beauty first reported on the partnership in our August issue, when we revealed that Louella Belle and HC MedSpa hope to take the concept to high-end retail locations across the country.  

Louella Belle will oversee the salons’ build, nail treatment protocols and retail offer. Its Artistic Colour Gloss and IBX brands will be used for treatments and Morgan Taylor polish will be retailed.

Louella Belle director Jamie Crook told Professional Beauty, “Over the years we have been offered many opportunities to open flagship nail bars for our brands and it's something we've always aspired to in order to showcase our products. However, as distributors, we have never gone ahead because we felt our expertise didn't lie in running a service business.

He added: "We have worked with HC MedSpa for many years and greatly admired their business ethos, so when the chance to partner with them arose, we were of course very excited. Our offices are close by and we actually bumped into each other one day and started discussing our development ideas. From this, we both saw a perfect opportunity to combine our fantastic brands with HC MedSpa's specialism in operations and services."

HC MedSpa chief executive Saad Aslam said that he is delighted to be working with Selfridges. “This alliance invites integration of the retail shopper and luxury treatment service providers which makes this collaboration our ideal route to market,” he said, adding that it will be important to deliver the high quality that Selfridges customers expect.

HC MedSpa already operates six medi-spas in North London and Hertfordshire, which specialise in aesthetics, but also offer nail treatments using Louella Belle’s brands.
