PB's Breast Cancer Awareness month round-up

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the pro brands have been thinking pink…

Artdeco has been donating 10% of the profits from its pink ribbon products to organisations working to foster mutual awareness of breast cancer. This year, under new Irish distributors Chleo Enterprises, the profits will go to theMarie Keating foundation, a Dublin-based family-run foundation determined to “make cancer less frightening by enlightening”. The pink ribbon products are All in One Mascara in black, with two different types of brushes for a higher fibre density to separate lashes and lower fibre areas to add more colour and volume. Glossy Lip Volumiser is also in pink ribbon packaging, and softens lips with a delicate coating of mint-vanilla scented gloss with a subtle hint of pink.

Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm has been dipped in pink for limited edition packaging. The much-loved hybrid moisturiser and balm glides onto the skin and gives a silky, dewy finish. Purple orchid provides its moisturising properties while antioxidant acai supports the skin’s structure and noni extract’s fruit acids impart radiance. Elemis is donating a total of £10,000 to Breast Cancer Care from all sales of the special edition balm.

Jane Iredale’s contribution to Breast Cancer Awareness Month is Smell the Roses Hydration Spray, a moisturising facial spritz with rose damascena flower water and oil, and botantical extracts to calm and refresh the skin. The rose-based spray helps to calm inflammation and redness while also tightening and detoxifying the skin. The product carries Ecocert’s Natural and Organic Cosmetics certification, thanks to its use of ingredients from renewable sources and organic farming. It is suitable for any skin type and can also be used to dampen make-up brushes for intensified colours or precise application. 100% of the net profits from Smell the Roses Hydration Spray will be donated to benefit breast cancer charities including Against Breast Cancer, which distributor iiaa is supporting for the fifth year.

Nouveau Beauty Group founder Karen Betts put her medical tattooing and permanent make-up artistry expertise to good use, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month by performing breast restoration treatments for cancer patients. On 12 October Betts hosted a clinic for women in Jersey, for whom the availability of medical tattooing treatments for breast cancer patients is minimal. Each year Betts holds the clinic at Jersey General Hospital and provides complimentary treatments using light and dark shading to create the illusion of a 3D nipple. Betts and her team of permanent cosmetic artists are also wearing pink gloves throughout the month to show further support.
