Professional Beauty buys Irish exhibition

Trades Exhibitions, organiser of the Professional Beauty exhibitions in London and Manchester, has bought Irish beauty show BITE from Expo Events.

BITE, which stands for Beauty Industry Trade Event, will be renamed Professional Beauty Dublin and the next event will take place in Dublin in October 2011.

The new organisers will invest substantially in the exhibition, with significant spend earmarked for visitor promotion to attract salon and spa owners from across Ireland.

Professional Beauty Dublin will be a trade-only event with the public actively discouraged. As well as the targeting the core beauty audience, show marketing will attract new blood into the health and beautysector. Hair salons interested in beauty, hoteliers and health club operators will all have bespoke promotion.

Visitors will be pleased with an increase in the educational content as well as being able to see all the leading skincare, spa, equipment, nails and tanning brands under one roof.

Mark Moloney, managing director of Trades Exhibitions, said: "The team and I are thrilled to be back and we're here for the long term tobuild Professional Beauty back into Ireland's leading exhibition. We're investing substantially to give exhibitors a return on their investment and so visitors can experience a true industry showcase."

Gerry Murphy, executive chairman of Expo Events said of the sale: "We've enjoyed working with the beauty industry and have made a lot of friends in the business but feel that the time has come for an organisation that specialises in beauty exhibitions to take the show forward. We know Mark and his team have some exciting plans and lookforward to seeing the exhibition develop."

Mike Cunniffe, Professional Beauty Dublin sales director, added: "As well as being able to offer exhibitors a show that delivers, I can make an immediate gesture of goodwill by announcing a reduction of stand costs of 5%. 2011 exhibiting rates will now be £190 + VAT per square metre for space only exhibitors and £210 + VAT for those that take shell scheme. I'm looking forward to seeing all my friends in the industry over the next few weeks."
